The first thing that came to my mind- "Oh lovely. I could barely do the blog in Ed. 205...how am I going to do another one?!" As the project was explained to me, my fears became greater and I became anxious. When it comes to technology, I consider my self incompetant of comprehending that which is a computer. Sure, I can turn it on and click on the Internet Explorer icon, or the Microsoft Word icon. But- that is about the extent of my knowledge when it comes to computers. After I thought long and hard about what I was going to do, i came up with one conclusion. I was going to stick it out no matter how difficult it was for me. So here I am, not knowing what I am doing.

The first thing that I did when I got home from class that day, was attempt to set up this blog and my RSS reader while the directions were still some what fresh in my head. I suscribed to http://www.washingtonpost.com, http://www.mlive.com/grpress/, and http://www.nytimes.com/pages/education/index.html. How did I choose what to suscribe to? I picked the only News papers I could think of at the moment. Original, I know.

After that, I sat there and tried to think of a topic. Finally, I thought about what I think is interesting to read. I decided that I like to read books such as Harry Potter and The Chronicles of Nanria. I decided to go from there. I also like to read about things that other people feel uncomfortable talking about. I do not know why, I just think it's interesting to get people so worked up over certain things. Those to things lead me to come up with my topic. Banned books. Harry Potter books were at one time very controversial. Sure, that ordeal has passed through, but that doesn't mean there were not PLEANTY of books out there that students were not aloud to read in schools. And I think its rediculous. Just because they can't read something in school, doesn't mean they can't read it on their own time. Not only that, but it seems like most of the books that are banned are banned for the language used. What High School student has never heard a swear word before? Most likely none. So all of my thoughts on this topic, and there are many, helped me decide to do my blog on something I think is very interesting. Banned books and other things in literature that are considered controversial. I figure, I am not to excited about making a blog, so I might as well write about something I like.

Topic soon to come...
